Fur-Ever Fall

There are so many wonderful things to love about fall: crisp morning air, cider donuts, the end of summer tv re-runs, the turning leaves. Now, let me add another to that list: fur! While everyone right now is going nuts for Starbuck's pumpkin spice latte - it even has its own hashtag #psl - I'm all about the fur.

Last year I picked up a black, cropped fur jacket on sale towards the end of winter. This year, I've become an early adopter and bought this adorable, silvery taupe vest, a black vest, and a creamy fur coat over the summer while it was still 75 degrees out!

I mentioned in my last post about how capes can easily transform an outfit, but a fur coat/vest takes it to a whole new level. It's amazing how much a fur topper transforms a basic outfit, such as this sweater dress, into something so chic and glam. For my latest fur purchases, I've purposely chosen longer pieces that fall just below the butt or mid thigh instead of at the waist. Fur adds bulk, so a longer piece helps elongate rather than widen.

With all my summer fur purchases, I am definitely all set for fall and winter and have been itching to wear these pieces despite the unusually mild season. So if you see a girl walking down Broadway in a fabulous fur vest and over-the-knee boots, sweating profusely, wave to her. She could be me!
